Kely Pinheiro is not your typical classically trained cellist. Hailing from the vibrant city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, she was raised in a music-loving family and developed a deep passion for the cello at a young age. However, she quickly realized her desire to challenge traditional boundaries and break free from the stereotypes associated with the instrument.

In 2013, Kely embarked on an exciting journey by joining Rio's esteemed string orchestra, Camerata Laranjeiras. It was during her time with the orchestra that she began to explore a diverse range of musical genres, including folk, pop, rock, and Brazilian music. This exploration allowed her to develop a unique musical style that blends elements from different genres, creating a fresh and captivating sound.

Kely's talent and dedication led her to the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, where she was awarded a full-tuition scholarship in 2018. Immersed in a dynamic and innovative musical environment, she further honed her skills and expanded her artistic horizons. Just a year later, she had the incredible opportunity to support the renowned Norwegian artist Astrid S on her European tour, showcasing her versatility and ability to adapt to various musical contexts.

In 2022, Kely accomplished a significant milestone by earning her degree in Cello Performance as well as Contemporary Writing & Production from Berklee. Shortly after graduating, she joined the Hadestown National Tour, solidifying her reputation as a sought-after performer.

In the fall of 2023, Kely concluded her successful run with the Hadestown National Tour and embarked on a new chapter by accepting a full-tuition scholarship into the Master of Music in Performance — Multi-Style Strings program at New Jersey City University. This program aligns perfectly with Kely's multi-genre musical explorations, providing her with an opportunity to further hone her skills in diverse styles, technology, and improvisation.

During her time at Berklee, Kely's artistic journey took an exciting turn as she discovered her passion for singing, songwriting, and producing. This newfound creative expression allowed her to find her voice as an artist, giving her the freedom to explore her musicality on multiple fronts. Additionally, Kely joined the Nebulous string quartet, further expanding her collaborative repertoire and showcasing her exceptional skills as a cellist.

Kely's music is characterized by relatable lyrics in both Portuguese and English, reflecting her desire to connect with a diverse and global audience. Her heartfelt cello arrangements are crafted with the intention of moving listeners emotionally and creating a profound impact.
